A winter to remember

Winter. Minaret’s best kept secret.

Navigating through the rollercoaster of a national lock-down certainly provided challenges but also a renewed sense of determination. In the midst of this time our team put pen to paper and was committed to weathering the storm and continuing to share the unique experience of Minaret Station for years to come. It’s been an incredible journey through the winter months with the humbling support of our domestic clients. What an honour to forge new relationships with our Kiwi locals and facilitate lasting memories to end 2020 on a high note by welcoming guests to our alpine escape. The work doesn’t stop here. We are readying for the high season of the summer and are thrilled to continue to share new corners of our New Zealand backyard with our Kiwi whanau and hopefully additional friends soon enough.

Winter’s Recap

We have been thrilled to see so many kiwis out travelling through New Zealand. Minaret Station has been a popular destination with new guests discovering us, as well as a number of familiar faces returning to visit. Over the course of the winter we received exceptional snow conditions for July and September providing skiers unforgettable days in the mountains and a break from the crowded Wanaka and Queenstown slopes. With recent snow conditions we look forward to the ski season extending through October.

In addition to local guests, we have recently welcomed a number of media to experience the diversity of Minaret Station. Moving into spring we had the exciting opportunity to showcase out newest spring adventure combo of heli-skiing in the morning, then heli-biking in the afternoon with sister company Southern Lakes Heliski & Southern Lakes Helibike. The terrain at Minaret Station has something for everyone from from steep and deep powder as well as spectacular single-track biking for all ability levels.

The Summer Ahead

As we move into the warmer summer months our lodge bookings continue to grow with guests taking full advantage of our seasonal offers. Families, couples and small groups of friends have enjoyed experiencing Minaret Station for the first time at our Mountain Kitchen Lunch and interest continues to grow. Experience a stunning scenic flight through the mountains and beautiful long lunch at the lodge nestled into the Southern Alps.
